Sarah and Del first met in the summer of 1985, she was training to become a chef and he was a starting out in a career as a builder.
Their love of travelling for food was apparent from the very beginning, both had relatives in London and would often travel to the capital meet up our respective families
The Birmingham food scene was still in its infancy in the 80’s there were Lorenzo’s, The Galley and Rajpoot who flew the flag but good eateries were few and far between, and for us along with most people vacating the bars and nightclubs around that time the famous ‘Mr Egg’ more than satisfied their needs
After graduating from the College of Food and Sarah worked at some of the best Hotels in and around Birmingham, working as a commis chef she spotted a gap in the market for pre-prepared fruit and vegetables,
In November 1989 we started our company ‘Apeeling Veg & Fruits’ the company ran to 2008 supplying establishments such as restaurants, hotels, bakeries & food service groups.
Today the standard of food offerings in Birmingham and the West Midlands region is second to none outside of the London area
We moved to the Harborne area of the city in 2000 which has always given us access to some great foodie establishments over the years
Residing in Birmingham all our lives, having our own food supply business
Sarah becoming a qualified chef knowing the environment of the restaurant Industry having worked in it.
