A Food Tour is a tour that leads a group of people around an interesting area, stopping frequently at a variety of different locations to taste a number of different foods. Locations can include Takeaway Restaurants, Food carts, Retail Shops and Food Markets.
Once you have completed your online booking you will be sent a confirmation email that has all of the tour details, including the location of the meeting point and how to get there. Directions for local car parking will also be included.
On the majority of the tours we take 16 people maximum, if between 16-32 people attend then we have two members of staff on the tour, tour guide + tour host, please do not hesitate to email us and we will try to see if we can accommodate.
The answer is, there is no difference, we found that it was more difficult to deliver the main tour subject information to numbers greater than 16 people whilst trying to organise the logistics. Your tour host will know everything your tour guide knows and will be able to interject with information along the way, but his/her main job throughout will be to organise the tour itinerary, logistics and time schedules.
Our Food Tours takes place in the West Midlands so there is always a possibility of rain. We do not cancel our food tours for normal rain or snow and we ask that participants dress appropriately and bring an umbrella – in such cases! Only if there are serious storm conditions will we consider cancelling a tour and if this is the case all the people booked onto the tour will be contacted on the morning that the tour is due to take place.
Yes they can! We can substitute any of the meat options for something vegetarian. During the online booking process, each participant will be asked to tell us if they have any special requirements. If someone is vegetarian, we will do our best to substitute the food or drink tasting with something else. We do ask that you please inform us of what type of vegetarian you are, and what you eat and don’t eat, so that we can find suitable alternatives for you.
We do not provide transportation to or from the meet up point. We will provide full details to the meeting point upon booking. If you need any further help getting to the meeting point, feel free to contact us. After the tour, your guide can help you get to where you are going – just ask.
The Five Ways Tram Terminus has been specifically chosen for its ease of accessibility from anywhere in the city centre.
Details for car parking facilities close to the meet up point will also be provided.

The tour is approximately 4.5 hours. Depending on the number of people in the group and how fast or slow the group goes, the tour can run a bit over or under the 4.5 hours, however the duration is generally 4.5 hours.
Don’t worry if you miss the tours departure as you can join up with the tour at any stage, your booking confirmation details will have your tour guides contact details, just call them and they will direct you to where they are.
You will have to pay the cost to travel and meet up with the tour and please bear in mind that the tour could be some way away if you are really late.
There are no refunds or partial refunds of any kind if you fail to meet up at the designated time and the tour has already started.
Yes! the tour is 4.5 hours long but most of the roads are easy to walk on, and we sit down in a number of places, so that here is a balanced amount of being driven, walking and sitting. There is an ale-tasting and a wine-tasting, however we provide alternative non-alcoholic drinks for children and teetotallers.
You are free to enjoy the tour with your entire family of all ages.
While we want everyone to enjoy themselves on our tour we are aware that occasionally the excessive consumption of alcohol by some and their subsequent behaviour can cause problems for other tour guests. We at TRTC don’t want to become killjoys or be the alcohol police but we expect all our guests to know their limits and behave in a way that doesn’t have a negative effect for others.
To be clear though disruptive and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated, our tour guides/hosts have our security partners on call throughout the whole tour. Security will be on hand to join the tour and remove offenders immediately.
Our Restaurant Food Tour has 10 different tastings that include visiting many different establishments, as well as restaurants tastings can take place at food markets, food trucks, takeaway restaurants and even some retail shops many. We don’t recommend eating breakfast before the early afternoon tour and leaving a least 2-3 hour window before the start of the early evening tour.

You must book directly on our website. We do not accept cash payments. Our online payment is safe, secured and SSL protected.
All our clients need to pay for it upon booking. The booking fee charged contributes to the cost of the ticketing system to provide an excellent service to our customers.
Our tours are often sold out very quickly. If the date requested is not available, please do not hesitate to email us and see if there is anything we can do. We cannot promise but we will try our best to sort something out for you.
We hope you appreciate that our tour stops can be some distance apart and tour guides/hosts need to handle time sensitive itinerary we must arrive at specific times, so we can’t spend too much time shopping. Your guide will indicate how much time you have for shopping where possible.
